"Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” - Met Gala 2025

Tonya Lewis Lee stepped onto the Met Gala carpet in a gown that paid homage to our founder, Amsale Aberra.

Crafted in a luminous cornflower blue, her custom AMSALE gown, was inspired by Soleil's tuxedo tailoring and adorned with hand-crafted rosettes—a nod to A101, the dress Amsale launched in her first collection nearly four decades ago. 

Tonya’s custom look, created in close collaboration with AMSALE’s design team, captures the essence of modern elegance and expert tailoring. The gown was created by hand in our NYC atelier.
