FOREVER DUKE

THEIR LOVE STORY
Jonathan and I married on the fourth of November two thousand seventeen in the Blue Ridge mountains of North Carolina, and we’re so thankful to say that our day was every bit as memorable as we had hoped.

From the beginning, we envisioned an intimate event—so intimate that we continued to refer to the wedding reception as a ‘dinner party’ for our dearest family and friends. We knew we wanted the atmosphere to be both warm and elegant, while allowing the mountain scenery to speak for itself.

Jonathan and I met during graduate school at Duke University, so it was that much more meaningful for us to celebrate our wedding back in North Carolina during our favorite autumn season, intimately surrounded by those who had contributed to us growing both as individuals and as a couple.

We were in awe of how enthusiastically our family and friends traveled and embraced the winding roads up the mountains to the quaint town of Highlands to share endless love, fun and joy with us that weekend.

And, as we look back on our day, we will remain steadfast in our opinions that the fog, the sun, that passing rain cloud, and the brilliant rainbow all that visited us that day in Lonesome Valley, perfectly represent the richness we know lies ahead for us together in marriage.
